Cosmetic Fillers
Cosmetic fillers, such as Voluma®, Restylane®, Perlane®, Juvederm®, and Radiesse® replace lost volume and restore youthful contours to the skin. Fillers smooth away fine, moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines between your nose and the corners of your mouth. Other commonly treated areas are: lips, temples, cheeks, jaw and hands. Hollow areas under the eyes can be filled and volumized to impart a natural youthful look.
Acne scarring can be smoothed out with fillers as well.
Prior to the treatment, a numbing ointment is applied to make patients more comfortable.
A treatment usually consists of several injections with a small needle to the prescribed areas. Any slight bruising or swelling can be reduced with ice.
For 1-2 weeks prior to treatment, avoid using aspirin or other anti-inflammatory medications such as Advil, Aleve or Motrin to reduce the risk of bruising.
Dr. Kenet carefully evaluates each patient before deciding which type of filler to use and in what amounts.
“It’s never one-size-fits-all for fillers,” Dr. Kenet says. “One product may work better than another on a particular area of the face. I strive for natural looking but elegant results.”
Results are immediately visible and typically last up to six months. With repeated use, some patients experience longer lasting benefits.
